My research integrates environmental philosophy and cultural history to understand how human practices in landscapes are normatively and culturally constituted. In my PhD project I explored narratives as tools shaping experiences of Norwegian mountain landscapes. In my Masters thesis I analysed the philosophical and ethical discussion on ecological restoration, and the premises behind some of the main strains of argumentation. This work is currently being extended to contested human-nature relationships in agriculture in my postdoctoral research as part of the project RIPARAGRO: Restoring Riparian Zones on Agricultural Lands.
